This Texas Level 4 Personal Protection Officer course meets the training requirements set by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). Upon completion, students are eligible to apply for a Level 4 PPO endorsement and work in licensed personal protection roles in Texas.

Meet your Instructor

Hello!  My name is Yvonne Doane, and I bring more than 45 years of experience in private security and professional training. Throughout my career, I have trained and mentored individuals in non-lethal and less-lethal self-defense, helping students build confidence, skill, and real-world readiness. Security Institute was founded in 1981 by my husband and me, and I am proud to continue the legacy we built together by carrying forward the same commitment to professionalism, integrity, and high-quality training that has guided this institution for decades. Today, our family remains dedicated to providing training that prepares students for real-world success in the private security industry. My approach to training is practical and straightforward. I focus on making complex material easy to understand while preparing students for the real responsibilities of working in private security. I believe training should be both approachable and thorough, so students leave feeling confident and capable. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Lamar University and bring decades of real-world experience into every course I teach. At Security Institute, I am committed to providing a professional, supportive learning environment where safety, knowledge, and real-world application come first. My goal is to ensure every student is fully prepared for success in the field.
